The Mirrorbox arrived at the Royal Opera House. For two days, it stood in the magnificent Paul Hamlyn Hall, surrounded by decorative pillars and huge windows, with light flooding in from every direction.
Inside The Mirrorbox was Charlotte W’s message for the place she loves.
This is such a special place for me and I really do miss it a lot. Being able to share what it means to me in this way was more than I could have ever hoped for.”
Charlotte W
Tourists from around the world, performers, opera-goers and people who came in solidarity with those living with ME and Long Covid, entered The Mirrorbox and listened to Charlotte’s message
Many people wrote postcards back to Charlotte during the visit. People following the journey online could also listen to her message and send digital postcards
Thank you for one of the most beautiful moments of my visit to London. Hearing your voice and your touching message moved me deeply. Somehow, feeling your love for it made my own love for this place even stronger. I felt very connected to you in that moment.

The Royal Ballet and Opera embraced the project, supporting activities were organised over the weekend of the The Mirrorbox visit. Project creator Alison gave a talk to the internal staff about the project and realities living with ME.
The project has touched those who have encountered it so far. I wish The Mirrorbox a safe journey onwards!”
