Where would you be if you could?

Messages have been left for places across the UK. Sharing stories and memories, each one tells of lives once lived and places that matter.

Maybe you’ll recognise some locations — or maybe they’ll remind you of a place that’s special to you.

Through the message map and library, you can explore the places that each sender wanted to share. A place they would visit if they could

A screenshot of the project message map. It shows the lower part of the UK with Ireland in the top left corner. . The land is bright green and the sea is blue. Purple dots across the UK represent the places people have left messages for as part of the project "I would be here if I could"
Muddy and grassy clifftop looking down over the sea with a puffin perched on the edge. There is another grassy and rocky mount sticking up out of the sea. The sea is dark blue.

Leaving a message

Where is the place you hold in your mind — the place you love but are unable to get to?

If you are living with ME or Long Covid and would like to leave a message for people at a place that is special to you, we will be accepting new messages later this year.
