Glastonbury Tor, Somerset

It is a clear blue day. A large tower stands high above on the top of a grassy hill. Next to the tower to the left is a box. It is big enough to stand inside. In the bright sunlight you can see through it. It looks just slightly darker than the sky. The top of man in a red top can be seen walking away to the right of the box and tower

The Mirrorbox visited Glastonbury Tor on June 18th 2025. You can read about the visit on our blog.

Although the Mirrorbox has moved on, we still encourage you to visit the location and experience the place for yourself.

Getting there

By car

Apart from the two designated spaces for blue badge holders, there is no parking at the Tor. Some parking can be found at the Rural Life Museum situated on the A361 out of Glastonbury towards Shepton Mallet. It is a short walk from here to the foot of the Tor.

If you park in Glastonbury town centre, a park and ride service is available to the Tor (see bus information).

By bus

You can travel to Glastonbury by bus from Bristol/Wells using the 376 bus service operated by First Bus. The service runs regularly (every half an hour) throughout the week. Visit the First Bus website for the latest timetables.

From the Glastonbury Information Centre, which is near St Dunstan’s Car Park, you can take the Tor Bus. This runs every half hour (except 1 pm to 2 pm) between 10 am and 5 pm. It provides access to Glastonbury Tor.

By train

The closest train station to Glastonbury is Castle Cary. From Castle Cary you will need a taxi. It is a 16 mile journey (approximately 30mins).
