Black Down has an aura of calm and I wish I was there to embrace it. The air always felt freshest at the top after a weaving hike and I remember always enjoying a well deserved snack.
I love how the viewing platform is tucked behind trees to create a secluded space. On a sunny day, there’s a beautiful stark contrast between the vegetation below and the bright blue sky. Photographs always manage to capture this beauty. I always felt freer up here. I loved the feeling that I was away from busy life below and that I could take a break and just be.
The noise of the world is quiet up here. I wish I was able to feel the calm embrace of Black Down when life feels overwhelming. I wish I could sit here, seek out bug friends, draw and just look out. I wish I could show my favourite place to my loved ones. I hope to return here one day.
