On top of a grassy hill next to a large bush. There is a picnic bench on the right hand side and a normal bench in the centre. There are two people and a dog on the edge of the hill. There are many green trees in the distance and lots of other hills. The sky is grey and very cloudy.

If you’re listening to this message, it means I have arrived… Well, virtually at least.

I’m so glad you’re able to be here and enjoy these glorious surroundings. Take in every sight and sound and scent, for these things are all so precious. I’ve written a short poem to share a bit of my memory of the delight that is Newland’s Corner…

Greetings from my bedroom, where I dream of being free,
Free to stand upon these hills,
To see the view,
To feel the breeze.

I love to come here often, making precious memories,
A poke of chips,
A hot chocolate,
Out in nature and so happy.

Looking out at the beautiful view, I still remember the vastness of the sky,
The peaks and troughs of the hills
And soft white clouds drifting by.

Enjoy the view and breathe deep the air,
for whilst I am here I wish I was there.

Thank you for taking the time to listen to my words. It’s been wonderful to be here with you today.
